Young People's Climate March

Nairn’s young people gathered on Friday 15th March in Nairn Town Centre to voice their concerns for our environment and demand action to be taken to stop climate change. Here at Green Hive we are very proud of the young people of Nairn for standing up for what they believe in a constructive and proactive way. “Others and myself decided that not enough action was being taken by global and UK politicians on climate change, so we decided to strike to address the issue that will impact all of us, for the 15th, the future and our future. Apple Tree Grafting and Pruning Workshops

The next generation of apple trees and apple tree growers have been nurtured over the last couple of weeks with our apple tree grafting and pruning workshops taking place. Nairn Academy pupils, staff and the farmer Jones Academy visited the Sandown Allotments and learned from experienced growers Jules, Des and Robert about permaculture and apple tree grafting. They will now take their trees, and knowledge back to start their own orchard at Nairn Academy!
