Our legal name is Nairn River Enterprise. We operate as “Green Hive”. This summarises our aims – to do all we can to promote our environment, protect and improve our green spaces, focusing on action, learning and community connections. Our first AGM

We held our first AGM on Thursday 6th October, marking 10 months since the organisation was formed. We now have 17 members and a number of other followers. Our Board of Directors was elected, now 4 in number and they will meet for the first time on 10th November. We’ll post more about the Directors after that. Our labours over the last months are beginning to bear fruit. On Wednesday last week Andy and Simon Randerson completed the erection of composting bays at Viewfield Park. A Green Hive of Activity

At Nairn River Enterprise we want to promote awareness of the environment, climate change and the importance of sustainable energy. We want to play a part in improving our local environment, doing things which make people feel better about their lives here, make them proud to live here and along the way if we can, help create routes to employment for local people. Now a not-for-profit company

On 1st December NRE was registered as a company limited by guarantee. This means that should we ever make a profit this money has to go back into the services we run, not the pockets of our members. It also means we are in a much stronger position to raise funds to set up projects that can benefit Nairn and deliver employability opportunities to local people. Announcing Nairn River Enterprise

Nairn River Enterprise is a social enterprise managed by local people formed to provide services that improve the physical, social and economic make-up of the town of Nairn, generating employment opportunities for local people and contractors. The Enterprise will undertake or support projects to improve the look of areas like the riverside walks, the old BMX track etc. Later we’ll start up a re-use scheme collecting from Nairn, refurbishing and selling in Nairn old furniture, electrical goods etc., at affordable prices.
