Building a Green Hive Hub!

Green Hive have commissioned a consortium of local specialists to undertake an “Options and Feasibility Study” which will help identify future activities and a main base for the organisation and to generate a commercial income.A really important aim of Green Hive is to engage the local community in our projects, the consortium will be reviewing opportunities for Green Hive to retain this community engagement, grow income and assess the best premises to help support this activity. To collect views on these opportunities, we are holding a community engagement event in the Nairn Community and Arts Centre from 10am to 2pm on Saturday…

Enterprise

We're hiring!

We are looking for a consultant (or team of consultants) to conduct an options appraisal of premises in Nairn best suited to the community hub and waste reduction enterprises which are our long-term plan. The fruits of the labours can be seen in the window of Clarks of Nairn furniture shop or on display in Nairn Library several times…

Bumble Bags – Bag making workshops

We’re now holding fortnightly workshops, learning to make the Bumble Bags we posted about back in July. All skills are welcome whether novice or expert. We’re grateful to have both already, learning the 100 year old machines we’ve got, passing on their store of expertise and all having a good time too. In the long run we’d like to help reduce the use of plastic bags in Nairn by offering…

Programme of events at our hub space

Gradually we are making more and more use of our space at Links Studios. Hopefully our fellow tenants are getting used to us! We’ve launched a programme of events there which everyone is welcome to attend – and you can drop by when we’re open. Currently, we plan to be open on Fridays from 10 ’til 1 and then 2 until 4. Give us a call on 07453 912697 when you’re coming down. Back in July we had a coffee and cake afternoon, well attended by a chattering bunch who came up with a load of ideas for future activities…
